Terms of use
Draft of 29 September 2026. Not yet in force.
1. The beta and your account
AfterLap is provided by To be completed: provider name; contact details are in the Imprint. It records and analyses drives, compares compatible results and provides replays. The beta is free; there is no paid subscription or automatic charge. Features may change and availability is not guaranteed, subject to your mandatory statutory rights.
You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter into this agreement. Keep your sign-in secure and use your own account. Our Privacy policy explains data use and your choices; agreeing to these terms is not consent to optional public identity.
2. Your content and public results
You retain any rights you hold in your content. You give us non-exclusive permission to store, process and display them as needed to provide AfterLap: including public eligible results, their replays and their use as opponents in other users' races. By default, results appear as Anonymous with the vehicle's factory description. Additional identity and profile details are public only when you enable public identity in Settings.
Upload only recordings you made and content you have the right to use. Do not manipulate results, upload unlawful content, infringe others' rights or abuse the service. Automated measurement and validity checks can exclude results from rankings. We may remove content or restrict accounts for unlawful content, material breaches or security risks. We explain restrictions and consider relevant context; contact us to challenge an error. Report unlawful content using the contact in the Imprint.
3. Driving and measurements
Follow traffic law and venue rules. Set up and mount your phone before driving; do not operate the app while driving or use rankings as a reason to drive unsafely. Measurements and vehicle suggestions can be inaccurate and are not certified or a substitute for safe driving judgement. You alone are responsible for your driving, your vehicle and complying with the law.
4. Liability and your rights
We remain liable as required by law, including for intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body or health, and mandatory product liability. For ordinary negligence, liability for breach of an essential contractual duty is limited to reasonably foreseeable, typical damage; other liability for ordinary negligence is excluded only where the law permits. An essential duty is one needed to perform the agreement and on which you may normally rely. Nothing here excludes mandatory consumer rights, remedies or guarantees in your country.
Users in the United States
If you live in the United States, this paragraph applies instead of the one above, to the fullest extent permitted by law. AfterLap is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement and accuracy of measurements. You assume all risks of driving and of using the app in a vehicle. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for damages arising from your driving; our total liability for any claim is limited to USD 100. Some states do not allow these limits, so parts of this paragraph may not apply to you.
5. Leaving AfterLap
You can stop using AfterLap and delete your account in Settings at any time. Deletion removes your profile and sign-in and takes your results off the leaderboards, replays and other users' races; uploaded recordings currently remain in internal storage as described in Storage and deletion. That retention continues only to the extent lawful; it does not waive your privacy or erasure rights. We may suspend or end access for the reasons in section 2 and will inform you, subject to legal or security restrictions.
6. Changes and applicable law
Changes to these terms apply to existing agreements only where permitted by law or agreed with you. German law applies without taking away mandatory consumer protections or access to courts available to you under the law of your usual residence.
